The beta test at work started well today and then went astray. So we reviewed things, I redeveloped things and after an 11 hour day, I finally left work. So there are more changes to come. Given how things have gone, I'm thinking that there are three more lonnng days to get thru with me possibly taking off Friday. Ella (my car) needs some work and can't wait too much more. So I'm hoping Friday is the perfect day to get her fixed up a bit.

It's time to get every home better, one plug as a time. Like John LaGrou quotes:

Had to replace the link, hopefully the full one works now.

Woke up late this morning by oversleeping a whole hour. And for some unknown reason, I'm feeling stiff all over. So I didn't walk before work and had to rush in. Now to put in another lonnnng day.

A while ago I heard about the SMS service called Twitter and was hooked on it after watching a presentation from TED.com (which some of you may know I believe should be mandatory for all education systems in the world). I've been using it more than I have LJ here just due to it's simplicity despite the 140 character limit. However, I just posted something today that has me finally making an LJ entry again:

(Twitter name: gnsnyder) So BillyMays passed on & I just learned of his son's Twitter acct @YoungBillyMays Has me thinking bout time for my Dad to read my Tweets...

Now to be fair, my Dad would have to join Twitter with an acct to read my posts because mine are private from the world at large. How celebrities like Alyssa Milano (whom I follow) doesn't get bombarded by spam and other such things is beyond me. Given that I don't except my father to join Twitter just to read my little posts, I'll be highly increasing my efforts to use Pixelpipe.com here to post both to Twitter and LJ.

Maybe I should be doing this in the reverse order. . . posting on LJ and pasting cutdown urls to Twitter. Hmmm. . .

Just caught an article on-line from a posting of a guy I know of in San Diego, CA.  The article got me thinking a little bit.  Organized religion these days seems to have a long way to go to get back to where they've come from in some respects.

I just finished watching the final episode of this season's LOST.  HWTF!  Instead of fade to black, it's reverse fade to white.  And now we wait until next year to watch the final season.  We sorta put things together in some respects this time around.  But more confusing then before is the fact that Locke is dead, isn't he?  We finally meet Jacob but then don't know who the new guy is that's been around since/with Jacob.  And then we have Alana, who so reminds me of Ana Lucia. . . but not the same actress.  Finally Jack believes in destiny, the shows core principals around him follows him as a true leader and yet again MORE people die.  But do they?  Next year's final season is probably going to be unbelievable.

Time for bed.  Wonder what dreams I'll have. . .

Today at work I agreed to attend a workplace employee development class on Conflict Resolution when my waiting list spot changed status due to a cancellation.  So I know that I had decided already to go see the movie this weekend presuming I would take Mom as part of the Mother's Day stuff.  She and I have in the past have enjoyed being fans of Star Trek Voyager.  The original series was on TV during the late 60s before I was even thought of.  :)  Back to the class at work today. . . in order to attend, I had to leave work off the clock for a few hours and then return.  Which led me to the decision to strategize going to see a matinee of the movie which I did.  I don't know much about the whole 'Trekkers/Trekkies' issue out there with the new STAR TREK movie.

To all the people that have 'issues' with the movie being made, I channel my great-gram and say 'Hush your fuss!'   Go see the movie and THEN make comments.  To totally steal the favored comment by Justin in 619/SanDiego: *geekgasm*   The movie does move along rather quickly and rarely holds still or pauses from action.  Leonard Nimoy is great and the rest of the cast I thought was brilliant.  I am so going back to see it again and dragging Mom along.  Yes, movies are commercial and really about the entertainment business but I stay go spend some damn money and enjoy seeing this on the big screen.

P.S.
Anyone who can follow clearly time/space continuum concepts, I might need some assistance to understand some of what in the heck happened at times.  LOL

Awww, that's just too bad...

So I'm sitting at work and agreed a few moments ago to attend an employee development class today I was on the waiting list for. However, after agreeing I realized that I was supposed to be done with work already for the week. So, I have to punch out for a few hours and then come back. And gee, Star Trek opened today nation wide on the big screen. Guess I'll need to 'waste' two and a half hours not at work. . . *Snoopy Dance*

I'm a Star Wars fan (note NOT fanatic) and found this site/group of web pages today.  It really makes you take a moment and pause to think about where people's passions lie.  *smirk*  Thank you Mom and Dad for allowing me to be sane and avoiding making the list presented here.

I get websites available for me to review daily and there is one that I 99% of the time really enjoy reading the articles posted. Today's is one I agree with across the board. Some the points I already practice intentionally and others unconciously. Enjoy!

Homoxual - pronounced 'ho-mock-shoe-all'. The new shortened form of 'homosexual'? Heard during BearsInTheCity Podcast #54. Definitely put a smile on my face considering it. *giggle*

I'm only working a 1/2 day today. Part of it has been a team call which is proving frustrating. As I'm trying to reflect, it appears that my mindset does not seem to gel nor communicate well with the rest of them. It's like coming at how to improve a vehicle. The current engineers on one side and consumer on the other. The consumers are telling the engineers why their decisions are not properly impacting the end user. . . . :|

As expected, there is not enough allowable time for me to achieve the current training revamp project goals for at work and as no surprise there is no OT allowed either. Time to suck it up and get on with it.

Presuming from a comment just made to me recently, my mentor at work saved me from being 'laid off' like my team member recently. Instead of me, the other team member was let go. I don't know if it was a situation of 'both' vs. one. I'm feeling a little unsettled and guess I should be glad I remember that today is my mentor's B-Day. Good thing I got a card for them. . .

Happy Earth Day - BRRRR

Tired this morning and I woke up cold. Had to take a hot water only shower to begin warming up - brrr. It's raining outside today - blech. Just submitted a suggestion for 'greening' workplace since it IS Earth Day and we got a company created newsletter with suggestions for making us a better company. They also requested submissions of ideas, so I sent in a quick e-mail explaining that requiring a policy of turning off monitors when we're not at work could save my employer over 3 million dollars a year. *smirk*
